Before the main card and main event take over the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Virginia there are two preliminary undercard matches. The main event features a championship battle between Britain Hart and Melanie Hart. The rest of the BKFC 51 card will build the momentum for the main event with six main card bouts. On the preliminary card, Cody Jenkins (0-4) looks for his first win against Zachary Pannell (0-0-0) who is stepping into the ring for the first time in the BKFC. The other preliminary match is a showcase for Kasim Ruffin (1-0-0) and Daniel Gary (0-3-0) to eventually get on a main card in the future.

The preliminary card is designed to get the crowd ready and pumped up for the main card, but can also feature fighters that are prepared to steal the show.
In Jenkins' first fights with BKFC he has come out on the wrong end each time with losses to Keith Richardson and Anthony Foye this year. He has four losses, but all it takes is a win today to get back on track and build momentum in his career.
For Ruffin he has one win under his belt with a win over Trai Santos back in March at BKFC 39. He looks to build on that with a win over Gary, who has losses on his resume to Michael Larrimore (this year), Kai Stewart and Rusty Crowder all in the past three years.
